An auction special level, where players can go to sell items like magic lamps and artifacts that are considered too powerful to go in the swap chest. Over the next 24 or 48 hours, the item is up for auction and then goes to the highest bidder. Bids start at 20,000 zorkmids and the minimum increase is 500.

Alternatively, this could be on a very short time limit of 30 minutes to an hour, which would prevent people from having to park their games for days but would probably result in a lot of stuff being auctioned off cheaply.

Make it impossible for worthless glass to generate in the Castle gem storeroom. Additionally, 10% of the time, have the storeroom generate entirely random gray stones, and 10% of the time that happens (overall 1%), the gray stones are all of the same type.

A new game mode in which you can play Astral in other players’ shoes. This could be accomplished by having the game back up an extra copy of its save file when you first enter the Astral Plane, which is then available for any other player to load as if it were theirs. Obviously, this would be a non-scoring mode.

In the curses interface, allow the user to configure a window that is like permanent inventory view but only shows their equipped items, so that they can quickly see that they are lacking a critical piece of gear.

Shops should slowly regenerate new items on empty squares within the shop, because monsters continually spawn and death drop items. Possibly, the items only regenerate when you leave and return to the level, rather than doing it while on the level.
